SecurityRecruiter.com has been retained by one of the largest energy companies in the world, a company that operates in over 100 countries, to identify a Regional Security Advisor. Regional Security Advisors (RSAs) work in Group Security which is responsible for the strategic global security efforts aimed at protecting our client's assets from criminal or hostile acts. Our client's assets are their People, Operations, Property, Information and Reputation. RSAs conduct risk analysis and security assessments within our client's businesses around the world to identify and evaluate security threats to the company. They also conduct sophisticated investigations into fraud, theft other acts of criminal conduct and serious violations of company policy. The Principal Role of the RSA is to advise our client's businesses on the management of their security in line with Group Security Policy and to assist them in their regular assessment and effective management of security. The role covers the following areas: Risk Assessment and Security Programs Investigations Analytical Activities Security Awareness Training Crisis Management / Emergency Response Executive protection planning and implementation where necessary The successful candidate will act as a focal point for advice on security risk management matters across all business streams within a region of North America. The position will be based in Houston, Texas with an operational need to travel extensively (30-50%), sometimes on short notice. This position will report to the Director of Security, Western Hemisphere.
It is anticipated that the candidate will have held a responsible position within law enforcement, intelligence, security services or as a professional security manager with commercial experience. Five or more years of federal investigative or intelligence experience is preferred. Preference will be given to those with a strong working knowledge of criminal law, investigative techniques and demonstrated skill in conducting successful investigations. The candidate should have a full range of business and security skills with an emphasis on security risk management, communications and interpersonal skills. Preferably, he/she will have received comprehensive management training. He/she will possess excellent writing and presentation skills. Candidates must possess a very strong ability to interact and communicate effectively with senior management, business clients, colleagues and external parties, both verbally and in written form. The candidate will be highly self-motivated and capable of working on his/her own initiative. Bachelor Degree required, Graduate Professional level degree preferred. A CPP and/or CFE certification is appreciated.
